The first Lancang-Mekong Cooperation (LMC) electric power China-Laos football tournament was held earlier this month. With the theme "Lancang-Mekong Cooperation, Building Dreams Together", the tournament featured five teams, including representatives from MEM, EDL, LMI, EDL-T, Yunnan Kunming Power Supply, and EDL Vientiane No. 1 Branch.
Over the course of three days and eleven thrilling matches, the EDL Vientiane No. 1 Branch team emerged as the champion, followed by the MEM team in second place, and the EDL team in third. The Yunnan Kunming Power Supply team received the “Outstanding Team Award”, while the LMI and EDL-T teams were honored with the “Sportsmanship Award”.
The event was attended by representatives of the Lao Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM), Électricité du Laos (EDL), CSG Lancang-Mekong International Co (LMI), CSG Yunnan Kunming Power Supply Co and Electricite du Laos Transmission Company Limited (EDL-T).
The tournament strengthened friendships and fostered cultural exchanges among power industry employees from both countries. Participants expressed their commitment to carrying forward the spirit of unity, cooperation, and perseverance from the field into their daily work, contributing to deeper collaboration in the power sector and cultural exchanges, and jointly building a China-Laos community with a shared future.
