Peru's Ranking Merco Empresas, a corporate reputation ranking network, recently released the Merco ESG Responsibility Ranking 2024, with Pluz Energía Perú SAA securing the top position in the utilities sector for the second consecutive year.
The Merco ESG Responsibility Ranking evaluates Peruvian companies based on their performance in three key areas: environmental (E), social (S), and corporate governance (G). The ranking highlights Pluz Energía Perú's outstanding contributions to sustainable energy development, social responsibility initiatives, and transparent governance.
A Pluz Energía Perú executive noted that the company's projects span energy transition, corporate governance, and community development. These efforts align with the Belt and Road Initiative cooperation framework, fostering practical energy-sector collaboration between China and Peru while supporting local economic and social sustainability. The rankings are determined through multi-stakeholder assessments, incorporating feedback from executives, industry experts, academics, NGOs, and the general public. The evaluation process includes data analysis and independent review to ensure objectivity and transparency.
